Thestrals. Some of the most beautiful creatures that one could ever bump into. If you had the ability too, of course. You had to have 'seen death'. Susan could only assume she couldn't, as she really hadn't had any of those experiences. She only hear of the deaths within her family... Though who knew, she could have been with someone as a baby, the redhead never got the full story. No one really knew it anyways. And now, for the pure chance of running into some creature, the girl was on her way to the Forbidden Forest. For time to think, to explore, to really do anything. Essays were boring, and Susan needed to work out for the week. She'd been eating too much recently, and not walked enough. It wasn't good for her in the slightest. She couldn't gain weight, especially after telling her uncle she promised to come back home five pounds lighter for break... Shaking her head, she pulled her hair up and exited the school.
A gust of wind hit Susan in the face as the main doors opened. She shivered, but continued on, where the sky was darkening and a fine mist covered every inch of the earth. No one sane would be outside in this weather, save for detention and Quidditch players. Still, not all that many. Pulling her small coat tighter around her shoulders, Susan hurried down the main path. No need to draw extra attention to herself by taking too long. Her eyes glued to the path in front of her, she watched small bugs traverse the path, trying to get safe from the upcoming downpour. They knew it was coming just as well as she did. But Susan didn't care, not with the hooded coat she wore.
A few drips of water hit her nose- just a light drizzle. It wasn't too dark, no need to worry about the downpour for maybe an hour. Probably less. Either way, she had time to sit and look around the entrance to the forest. That cheered her up a bit, she wouldn't have to deal with her social awkwardness for some time. Unless some magical creature felt like talking with her, which wasn't at all lightly. A breeze blew through, almost knocking the redhead's hood off her head, right as she finally neared the grand forest. Turning herself, Susan walked along the rim of the forest. It was too late to go and sit inside, she was afraid of what might attack her, as so many were. This way she still had the view, and she could run away if anything appeared. Not that she was a very fast runner, she never had been. As such a... Lazy child, she never wanted to work out. Or do anything other than eat food. But that was what happened when you were depressed, and it sucked.
Aiming herself slightly more close to the trees, Susan tried to avoid the start of the rainstorm. A few sprinkling drops were hitting the ground, slowly covering it. Soon enough it would be pouring, but Susan didn't care. She needed to get a walk in, she needed to lose the pounds. Of course she wished she wasn't so self conscious about every little curve on her body, but she couldn't help it. After months of teasing, one just got use to having to make sure they always looked perfect. Not to mention, it did help her confidence some. Clearing her head of any thoughts, she watched the path move in front of her. Nature really was spectacular.
