This hall welcomes you into the castle, and gives you your first glimpse of the school's wondrous interior. To the right are the double doors of the Great Hall, and a staircase leads to the Hufflepuff common room, the dungeons, and the kitchen. It is in this hall that Professor McGonagall speaks to the first years prior to the annual sorting ceremony.

This small, crowded, windowless room is the home of Argus Filch. It is lit by a single oil lamp, and smells strangely like fried fish.

The staff room, which is guarded by two talking stone gargoyles, is a long, paneled room containing many mismatched, wooden chairs and a wardrobe in which a Boggart used to reside.

This classroom is large with tall windows on the walls which allow daylight to light the room. Four rows of three desks are set up for the students, and several cages and bookshelves are spread around the room. Two chalkboards and a desk are provided for the teacher's use.
