she lives in a fairytale......somewhere too far for us to findLuna Lovegood is a fifth year Ravenclaw. A little bit odd and a little different, she's known for being honest to the point of embarrassing people and for her beliefs in many a strange and impossible creature. She values friendship very much, and it is more important to her that you have some good in you somewhere than what house you are from. She has very few enemies because bullying has no effect on her.

luna and amelia When it comes to friendship, Amelia considers Luna to be a bit of an easy target, if you will, because Luna doesn't dislike anybody. Being an atheist in a family full of religious people has made her pretty adept at listening to things she doesn't believe in and being able to sort of tune it out - for example, Jesus Christ, or nargles. Amelia would probably go to Luna when she felt like having a normal conversation and not having to be funny in order to get the other person to stay around. Luna has a way of making every conversation interesting, so Amelia would gravitate to her, especially because she finds so many things boring.

Luna&Verity
Luna is probably someone Verity could get on quite well with and maybe even be friends despite the difference in their houses. She really needs some friends and although she is bound to be a death eater in the future it might help having friends outside Slytherin.
As she is willing to do anything to save herself Verity might start off with trying to manipulate Luna into getting her into Potter's good books...and then maybe as it goes on she finds the younger girl too decent to use in such a way? I'm throwing ideas about ^^;

amelia&lunaI think Luna could come to like Amelia, and may even find her sort of strange. They'd be an odd pair, I think, but they could be friends. (: Also, I saw in your post that Amelia thinks Luna needs defending, and that's not really all that true. I'm sure Luna would stop her if she tried to defend her and tell her, "They're just having fun. Come, let's go to the library." or something. Just a thought. verity&lunaLuna would probably be slightly wary of Verity at first, but she firmly believes that everyone has a good streak in them somewhere, so she obviously won't turn her away or anything. I expect they could reach a sort of odd friendship. As for the manipulation, Luna may have her head in the clouds, but she is acutely aware of the world around her, and she would probably sense it, especially if Verity tried to include Harry in it. Luna is very protective of him! Sorry these aren't very helpful, you two. Kinda freaking out about homework, but wanted to reply. Dx Will probably have better ideas later.

Lunaverity
Well, I did say try to manipulate her ^^ She'd certainly give it a good go anyway haha and even if it didn't work I think she would appreciate having someone to talk to who actually wants to know her and isn't completely terrified of her being a Slytherin. Maybe Luna would be one of the first Verity confides in about her father being murdered...
OOOH! THESTRALS!

ASTORIA AND LUNA There is a year apart from them and I think Astoria would find Luna to be an odd creature indeed, someone she'd be eager to get to know more about, almost like studying her in some respects. I think these two could have some very interesting conversations if given the chance. Thoughts?

luna&ginny;;Luna is one of Ginny's best friends. Ginny has come to accept and even enjoy (look at the other people react, that is) Luna's sort of nonsensical theories and the "mythical" creatures she talks about. Ginny is the one (if we're going with book plots) that introduced Luna to Harry. I think it might be safe to say that until then they maybe weren't very close and they sort of just stuck together after Dumbledore's Army?

I'm SO sorry for taking so long to reply, everyone! I've been really busy. Plus, to be completely honest, I hate replying to plot pages. xD verity&lunaSounds good to me! Your OOH! THESTRALS! gave me an idea for a thread, too, if you're interested. :3 We all know Luna loves her Thestrals, so if Verity can see them, I think we could get something going on that front. Thoughts? astoria&lunaI'm sure Luna would love to talk to dear Astoria. (: Let me see...what do they have in common? Does Astoria like to read? Perhaps they could meet in the library? Or what kinds of places does Astoria frequent? ginny&lunaYeah, that sounds about right. I think it would be fun to play out the friendship between these two, seeing as Luna's a bit loony and Ginny's much more grounded, but they're still good friends. They make an odd pair, but I love them, hehe. But, yes, I think the DA probably brought them together, and they're forming a bit of an alliance now, though not yet strong enough to allow them to lead the DA. That's for next year. ;D Up for a thread?

Remus would have taught Luna in her Second Year, I believe. Never one to judge, he would likely find her oddness almost endearing, as he's proven quite a few times that he finds individuality and admirable trait. And he certainly can't judge people for being different, even if...er, well...his 'different-ness' is a little far removed from what the usual perception of 'different' is. As a student, he might have found her to be a little too easily distracted, but otherwise, she would probably have been a hard-working, interested young lady, and one, by all accounts, who showed quite an aptitude for Defence Against the Dark Arts.
Her fascination with the 'unusual' would probably have amused him more than annoyed him, and he probably had a good chuckle about it in private. As she's someone easily targeted and bullied for her 'quirks', I think he might have even felt a sense of protectiveness towards her, one that went a little beyond the usual staid teacher/student duty of care. Not quite as much as he did with Harry, but relatively close to it.
Following that...well, things like the Department of Mysteries battle and what have you? I'll leave that until you've responded. ^^
One more thing, though...I'm fairly certain Remus would be able to see Thestrals. He's seen death, of that I'm certain. I wouldn't go so far as to presume that he might have given Luna more of an insight into that, as a Professor and a friend, in her Second Year, but I do think it's possibly something that could be worked on with them? What do you think?

luna&ginny;;I would love to do a thread with Luna and Ginny ^__^ all of mine are sort of at a stand still at the moment while I wait for replies, so other than work and catching up with other sites, I've got little to do at the moment. lol. I'm not sure what we could do because my brain is being a big meany head, but I'm sure we can think of something.
I felt the need to hop on the thestral train because it seems like something Luna's been discussing with others :P Ginny can't see them, but she's ridden one, which wasn't exactly a fun experience for her, preferring to be able to see what holds her in the air.

Having seen her mother kill her father I think its a pretty safe bet that she could see them XD I think if the conversation turned to why they could each see the creatures they might form some sort of bond although I can't see them being more than friends...and probably not very close ones. Perhaps just someone the other can talk to about losing a parent?
I dunno XD
