Tonks is Tonks. Enough said (though you can’t really ever say enough, now can you?). Currently an Auror for the Ministry and member of the Order, she tends to keep rather busy, though somehow she always manages to find time for socializing, likely due to the fact that almost anywhere she goes she can find someone that she knows, and if not, she’ll make a new friend within five seconds flat (two point five a personal record). Although, lately, due to some er—personal-but-not-so-privately-personal- problems, she just doesn’t quite have the same energy (&/or) effort for anyone else. See the girl with a broken smile, ask her if she wants to stay awhile. Because of her very strong allegiance to the Order and her distaste for pureblood maniacs (i.e. most of her charming family) Tonks definitely has made some enemies along the way. And love? Heart.Stolen. Heart.Broken. Heart.Gone. Take another little piece of my heart, now baby.
Would love to plot with everyone! <3

Post by PROFESSOR MINERVA MCGONAGALL on Mar 26, 2012 16:20:38 GMT -5
Minerva and Tonks could be sort of friends. Tonks is a little too goofy for Minerva's tastes, but if Tonks ever asks for it then Minerva will be there for her. So maybe a strained friendship?

mcgonagall <3 ILOVEHER. anyway, i think they could sort of be friends too. i think it will be hard for both of them to move past the student/professor idea-- and i think tonks is definitely a little too goofy for minerva but hopefully one day she will get the chance to show mcgonagall she's not all fun & games (just MOSTLY). i think tonks has a great deal of respect for mconagall and a meeting between these two would be interesting!

Oh sweet Jesus. Or Merlin, whatever. I think we're going to need to exchange secret names and IM's or PM's or whatever, and that's just STARTING with plotting their history thus far, let alone anything more. XD
On a more serious, plotting note, I'm sure you've read Remus' profile, or you will. Doing so will give you a pretty quick insight into just what Remus feels (truthfully, not what he's trying to feel to get out of the situation) in regards to his Nymphadora. Though, I'll still summarise it, nice and short, right here: he loves her. Desperately so. She's very much the 'light changes when you're in the room' for him (see the song It's You by Michelle Branch to get the context of the quote, hee!), and back in the days before Sirius' death and Voldemort's coming out into the open, she actually made him feel younger than he's felt in years, and, much to his chagrin, he became very prone to both bantering and flirting with her, if playfully so. He found her adorable, right down to the klutziness and the hilarious single-minded obsessiveness over the oddest things, but he would have been pleasantly surprised too that she was someone he could talk to, as well as joke with. He would have come very close to actually believing he was allowed a chance with her, if he didn't half take it already, before everything went wrong, and on his end at least, came to consider her as one of his best friends and most reliable mission partners. You know, the type of friend you gain when you look out for another (Sirius). The type you can sit with at some ungodly hour after work or duty and drink tea with. The type, ultimately, that you make in a war.
However, not only does he think he wholly does not deserve her, he thinks he's doing what's best by her by pushing her and her love away. He's too old, too poor, and definitely too dangerous. And though it's not part of his three magical excuses, he's also terrified of not only being the reason behind losing her, but the idea of what it will do to him if he does lose her. Because he's already had to lose so many people. Even though he really wants to hate her at times, because much as he tries, he's found and finds her very hard to say no to, and it's killing him slowly having to do so time and time again.
Anyway, my muddled diatribe aside...what do you think? x3

oh yes. most definitely. this is just the tip of the iceberg, of course. i think developing some history for these two is a good idea. i liked a lot of what you came up with in your history, actually. love michelle branch, incidentally. and, as you well know, or i hope you know-- read the profile: A M A Z I N G. such an in depth take on his character, lovedit.
i agree that these two became war friends (a very special & close sort of friend). my impression is that these two definitely had some hope in the fifth book, and may have even sort of/kind of started heading in the direction of a relationship further than friends... and then, yes, all those things happened (sirius dies, tonks in the hospital, remus asked to go off with fenrir as a spy--boom,boom,boom dominoes!) and it all sort of fell apart and reinforced all the doubts lurking in remus' mind. and i definitely think these two got off work at odd hours, drank tea, and probably exchanged lovely&odd banter that only the two of them would understand (&find amusing).
i think tonks has a lot of respect for remus and everything he's been through... and i think tonks can't quite understand it yet either, because even though they are IN war, she still has yet to experience it completely (though sirius' death has helped move her along). i do think she is still immature in a lot of ways, and has a lot of growing up to do before remus could really take her seriously. tonks definitely wants to hate him bloody git as well, but really just can't do it. even though he's pushing her away, i think she keeps getting right back up and ready to pull, pull, pull. though it gets more difficult every time (what with all those bumps and bruises).
anyway. so i basically repeated&agreed to anything&everything you said. <3 we should definitely cement a history for them and start a thread! <3 i'm not very good on plot pages. xD like to thread it out! <3
again, welcome to the site! looking forward to threading with you (&your lovely remus).
