The school was buzzing with students once again, as it always was every afternoon but today Astoria really did seek some peace and quiet and hoped she might gain something along those lines outside the school in some fresh air and soak up what sunlight she could get into her system. The fresh air always cleared her mind and the warmth of the sun always made her smile and feel safe for reasons she could not explain.
Slowly the sounds of the many students in the halls faded away behind her, where to go though was another question. The lake would be rather pleasant, the small chairs around would be nice but no doubt already people would be crowding the squares so that left her to go with a more simple place, the Quidditch Pitch. She had no idea if someone was practicing today or if a team was but as she walked onto the pitch there was no one around so she walked up several stairs and into the stand taking a seat.
Finding herself alone she sat down and pulled out a book she probably only got 3 pages in when she closed it and put it away taking in the scene around her, it was a beautiful one, the weather was lovely and she wished she'd had brought a broom with her to fly around but instead she was stuck on the ground without the freedom of flight and ability to go wherever she pleased. Letting out a sigh she scanned the ground before spotting someone enter the rink and squinted her eyes to see who they were and what they might be up to.

Even with the school teeming with students all going separate directions, it was easy to get bored. It was easy enough to just put down an essay and walk off to go just space out. And today was just that type of day for Susan Bones. There really hadn't been anything for her to do, and the single essay she had to do wasn't due for a few more days. Therefore, she could spend the rest of the day however she liked. And today? Well, today involved going on a walk through the school grounds. Of course, the days normally went like that. Susan very much enjoyed going for walks, they always made her feel better about herself. Made her feel like she was, at least, a little bit pretty.
Pulling her hair up into a quick ponytail, Susan left the school, the grand doors shutting behind her. The sun was out the most minimal bit, making her glad she chose to go out and do something. Otherwise she would have ended up sitting in the library, reading some book that really wasn't all that important, while staring out at the bright field from the window. And who would want to do that? Those were always such boring and terrible days. The sun faded from her gaze, and Susan brought herself out of her thoughts to realize how close she was to the Quidditch Pitch. Thankfully it was a wonderful place to be when nothing was happening. And judging for the very small amount of sound, she could easily guess that no one was there at the time.
Entering through the main entrance, she glanced around. It didn't seem like anyone was on the field... But in the stands, there seemed to be a single girl. All by herself... That was a bit odd. A Ravenclaw? Susan thought. To be sitting by yourself in such a large area, it was almost certainly one of them. But she had no idea how close she could be. The redhead smiled, and headed in the direction of the other student. Hopefully they would be willing to talk. Because she certainly felt awkward walking around alone, and suddenly leaving would almost definitely be even worse. Then the girl would think she was ignoring her, or avoiding people, or something. And Susan tried not to do that as much as possible, it wasn't a good habit.
"Hello?" Susan said, not even sure if the other could hear her. It wouldn't matter either way, she just wanted to see if the other would at least try to be friendly.

She could not tell who it was she was seeing, she got the red hair though which meant it could have been that Weasley chick, ah that was all she needed some bratty two face red head Weasley girl getting all defensive because Astoria was in Slytherin, if she was not in Slytherin she wouldn’t have all the problems she had now, houses divided the students she noticed, it was the stupidest system she had ever come across, very stereotypical… or so she thought. Of course Astoria did not like Ginny Weasley because of her house it was her attitude and that face she made, she often got the impression Ginny assumed she was better than everyone else or maybe it was the fact she was very tom-boy like instead of being lady like, something Astoria had been brought up to believe was important.
So she watched the girl for a moment though she did not seem all too like Ginny, she seemed different, the hair was slightly different, she could not tell what house she was in but it seemed the girl had spotted her as Astoria sat up a little straighter almost defensively and trying to figure out what her next move would be as the girl walked over towards her a bit. Ok she was not about invading personal space was she? What if she did, well Astoria could curse the girl easily enough without anyone knowing about it, no that was too drastic a measure. No she needed to be polite for a bit and smile and be nice and all of that, easy enough done than said.
For a moment she thought the girl said something or her lips formed into something, Astoria was not sure. She contemplated what to do like shover her head in a book or duck down out of sight or be all bright and bubbly and go up and talk to the girl but she did none of that she simply waved her hand to the girl a little as a form of hello; I mean what else could she do other than that. Well no she knew she could do much more than that but she didn’t want to, if the girl really wanted to talk to her she’d come up and say something right?
ooc – I finally have time to post ^_^

Even if Susan wasn't completely sure of whom she was about to run into, she didn't care. It would be nice to talk with anyone, as long as they weren't secretly evil or anything. But what if they didn't want to talk with her? The more she thought about it, the more Susan worried that it just wasn't a good idea. Maybe they thought she was weird already, walking on the Quidditch Pitch alone. It wouldn't be very surprising. Slowing her pace a bit, the redhead thought of whether it was a good idea to talk to the girl in the stands. She didn't need to, did she? No, of course not. Susan could just continue on her way, no cares in the world. Except full of cares. Oh, whatever. She sighed, knowing she had to make a choice- and either way she would be judged. Great.
Normally, Susan tried not to judge others based on houses. But for her, it was hard. Years of having a single house beat on you for the way you looked... Well, that caused some irreparable damage. She couldn't forgive a Slytherin, since none of them had ever been kind to her. For what it was worth, Susan tried to avoid house stereotypes. They were just as bad as the ones in the Muggle world, or so she had heard. But who knew if she could even trust that? Thrusting her hands deep into her pockets, the redhead debated with herself once again on whether to really go talk to the girl or not. It wasn't a normal thing for her to do, no, not at all. She didn't like talking with people. They were always mean, nosy, or something along those lines. Not always that enjoyable, unless she knew them well enough.
But honestly, was she going to be able to approach the girl? Why had she decided to come to this one place? Oh, it was such a bad idea now. There was a good enough chance that it would be a Slytherin. Or a Gryffindor. Or someone she didn't want to be around right now. She wanted to think. But it was too late now, wasn't it? Susan couldn't turn around, it was too late. She'd have to approach the girl. She just had to come up with a good enough reason to do so.
Finally entering the stands, she walked up the stairs slowly and deliberately. What would she say? Well, even if it was made up, it would work as good as anything. It seemed like only a moment later she was up in the stands with her. "Hi." she started off, incredibly awkward, "Do you mind if I sit here? It's a good view." she was a few rows away, and she still wasn't certain of the girl. Susan was fairly sure the girl was younger, which made enough sense. She would just avoid being too close. Didn't want things to be too awkward, did she?
