Gryffindor

If you want your character to be in Gryffindor, there are certain qualities the staff will be looking for in your app before you’re accepted. The staff needs to be able to identify at least a few of these traits or you will be asked to edit your app so your character will qualify. Not every Gryffindor should have every one of these traits. While reading this, remember that each trait can be taken in more than one way. (Think of how different Neville Longbottom and Cormac McLaggen are, and yet they’re both Gryffindors!) Be creative with these traits and people will be more inclined to plot with your character.

The official list of traits for Gryffindors is as follows:

Members of Gryffindor can be reckless in the way they exhibit these traits; for example, some may be careless in what they do because they aren’t afraid to face challenges, or they may be unable to back down from a challenge or dare, no matter what the nature. They often stand up for those who need defending and some find themselves unable to back down from a fight. Sometimes hot-headed, arrogant, and stubborn, they often go barreling into situations, determined to set things right or cause trouble. Gryffindors sometimes have a problem with authority, and do as they wish, or may disregard the wishes of others on their mission to get their way. Additionally, Gryffindors often enjoy joking around and causing trouble. Proud and just a bit conceited, they can sometimes be a bit careless when it comes to the feelings of others. They can be extremely competitive.
